As we reflect on the season we were able to have in 2021, we can say with confidence, Westbrook Youth Football can do anything we set our minds to. As we sat down to plan our season, we heard of our surrounding towns shutting down for the season due to Covid. We as a board, decided we were going to do whatever it took to make a season happen. We not only had a season for Westbrook players, but we welcomed players from Falmouth, Gorham, Gray-New Gloucester and Windham. Our players went from competitors to teammates, and created memories that will last forever.
Westbrook quickly became the town everyone wanted to play in. We would have all day back to back games on Saturdays, only to open our fields to other towns for use on Sundays. With a solid Covid plan, and with solid volunteers, we made it happen. We are so proud of our players, parents and friends that made this happen.
Westbrook Youth Football, a 501(c)3 organization, is an instructional league that supports the physical and mental growth of young athletes in the Westbrook area by offering organized cheerleading, flag and tackle football programs for grades K-8. Our program is entirely managed by volunteers, and we appreciate the generous support of the community, local merchants, and civic organizations. Every dollar we raise goes back into funding our programs, which cost about $30,000 annually to run. Your donation allows us to provide the latest and safest equipment and training while keeping our registration fees down for our families. Expenses include items such as the purchase of equipment and uniforms, field use and maintenance, medical insurance, referees and EMT support at each game, as well as coach education and scholarships.
For the continued success of this program, we need assistance from as many individuals and businesses as possible. We offer multiple levels of sponsorship options including player, team, equipment and event sponsorship. Any amount helps, and we always welcome items that can be used for raffle prizes, including gift cards. We are hopeful you will be able to assist our efforts in some way. First Down and Field Goal sponsorships will be acknowledged in our Season Program available at home games. Conversion, Touchdown and Blitz* sponsorships include Fall Season Banner displayed at our home field, an announcement at all home games, and 12 months of logo/clickable link on our website.
